Terms of Service

StoryTales lets you create personalized, AI-illustrated children's books (digital, with optional printed copies when offered). By creating an account you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be 18 or older.

Your account

Keep your credentials safe; you are responsible for activity under your account. One account per person. We may suspend accounts for abuse, fraud, non-payment, or unlawful content.

Credits

Usage is paid with prepaid credits (top-ups, and subscriptions where offered). Credit prices and per-action costs are shown in the product and may be configured by us (including via the admin pricing tools). Credits are a service credit, not money or a bank deposit; they have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Purchased credits do not expire. Prices at checkout apply to that purchase; we may change future prices, not retroactively. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; their checkout terms apply to the payment itself.

Service closure: if StoryTales permanently discontinues the service, we will give at least 30 days notice by email and on the site. During the notice period credits remain usable and your books remain available for download as PDF. Purchased credits that remain unused at closure will be refunded at their purchase value. Promotional and welcome credits have no cash value.

Refunds & cancellations

Payments. Checkout and card processing are provided by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; their buyer terms apply to the purchase transaction. StoryTales provides the credit balance and creative service after payment is confirmed.

If subscriptions are offered: they can be cancelled anytime, effective at the end of the billing period. If you buy credits and have not used any for generation, regeneration, or paid animation, you may request a refund within 14 days via support@storytales.art (and/or Lemon Squeezy's refund flow where applicable). Once any paid generation or animation has run against those credits, those credits are non-refundable except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise. If we charge credits and generation fails on our side, we re-credit credits to your account. Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer rights that apply to you.

Printed books, when offered, are custom-made goods: you may cancel until you approve a print proof; after printing begins, refunds only for defective or damaged copies, consistent with applicable consumer-protection rules (including Israeli Consumer Protection Law where it applies).

Your content and license to us

You keep ownership of what you upload (photos, names) and of your generated books for personal use. You grant us a limited license to process your inputs and deliver the service, nothing more. You confirm you have the right to upload any photo you provide (your own child, or with the guardian's permission).

AI-generated content

Stories, illustrations, and optional short videos are generated by artificial intelligence. Results can include mistakes, oddities, or imperfect likenesses. You should review the book before finalizing (and before any print proof). We do not guarantee a particular artistic result; regeneration and edit tools are provided instead.

Acceptable use

Do not upload photos of children you are not responsible for; do not upload unlawful, harassing, or infringing content; do not attempt to extract models, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service; do not resell generated books commercially without a separate written agreement.

Our intellectual property

The StoryTales software, brand, templates, and story frameworks are ours or our licensors'. Your personal-use rights in your books do not transfer rights in the underlying service.

Availability & changes

We aim for a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a way to download your books when feasible.

Liability

To the extent the law allows: the service is provided "as is"; our total liability is capped at the amounts paid for StoryTales plans/credits in the 12 months before the claim (whether collected by us or by our merchant of record on our behalf); we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from content you upload in breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

Governing law & disputes

Israeli law governs these Terms. Courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence where they legally apply.
